New York Fashion Week is in its fourth day and here is a little something to remind us where it all began. “The Tents” is an interesting documentary directed by James Belzer and Marcus Jones cataloguing the birth of Fashion Week and its expansion using intimatie interviews with industry leaders such as Tommy Hilfiger, Donna Karan, Betsey Johnson, Nina Garcia, Carolina Herrera, and more. It was such an honor to have second row seats at the Project Runway finale taping (which airs tonight on Lifetime) during Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week! Fashion bloggers Girl With Curves, Karla Powell MUA, and myself sat right behind Betsey Johnson and singer Corrine Bailey Rae (photographed above). Above are a few snap shots from the amazing show @ the Lincoln Center! Who has been YOUR favorite Project Runway designer this season?

As you can probably imagine, Betsey’s workplace is a huge cluster of neon, art, fun, and fashion! All things that embody Betsey! At 69 years old, she’s still going stronger than ever! 3 other bloggers and I got a private tour, preview of the collection, and 15 minute sit-down with Betsey herself last week! Amazing!

Betsey Johnson Spring/Summer 2012
My hat goes off to Betsey! Show theme: “Tit’s & Ass”. By far the most energetic, trendy, and fun fashion show I have ever witnessed! From the booming pop/rap music to the floral/pastels to the shimmery glitter pieces… just insanity! Nicki Minaj was also sitting across from me dawning a blue and blonde afro wig and eclectic colorful outfit! Check out Betsey’s daughter, LuLu, closing the show and that amazing cartwheel after the jump:

If you’ve never been to NYFW and have been wanting to go, do it! It will honestly change your life forever. Yesterday I got a private tour and sit down with fashion legend, Betsey Johnson! Check out this clip of Betsey discussing all things from her early career to new designers to the late McQueen above! Can’t wait to see the show today (Nicki Minaj is gonna be there)!
