#MUSIC: LISTEN - AALIYAH | “QUIT HATIN’” (2013)

There has been talk for months about the release of a posthumous album from Aaliyah that will be executive produced by Drake and released through Blackground Records. Though it’s unclear whether this newly released track “Quit Hatin’” will make the album, it’s a fact that new Aaliyah material is on the way in 2013, and this post is only the beginning!

The song is a smooth and soulful jam that fits perfectly with the aesthetic of music the songstress had been writing at the time of her death. Check it out after the jump:

Shake It Out (Remix) | Florence + the Machine (ft. The Weeknd)

Canadian narco-R&B project The Weeknd have done remix duty on “Shake It Out,” the excellent new single from Florence & The Machine. They’ve transformed the song from a rousing anthem into a slithery, downbeat thing, feeding Florence Welch’s voice through enough filters that it sounds a bit like Abel Tesfaye’s. (Abel himself doesn’t sing on the track.) Drake must be so happy right now!
