ACNE FALL/WINTER 2012.13

Acne was all about layering, belts, small waists and lots of fabric! Super thick waist belts took over the show (the new-age corset, perhaps?), nipping in quilted jackets, and luring through inflated shirts. Colors started in deep dark maroons and oranges onto more acidic splashes of green, blues, and yellow. Structure and definition rained the Acne show for sure. A+! -TLI

JOHN ROCHA FALL/WINTER 2012.13

This could perhaps be our favorite collection from John Rocha in quite some time. A stunning collection of Sheer blacks, ruffled metallic silks, fur Panels and structured leather Jackets. Rocha is known for his distinctive style and quality that he provides with every collection and stuck with it in improving techniques and playing with fabrics, which he aims for every season (and has clearly been successful).

CENTRAL SAINT MARTINS FALL/WINTER 2012.13

London Fashion Week has got off to a great start as models walked the runway for various designers at Somerset House in London. Central Saint Martins is always a spectacle to look forward to as it gives a chance for rising British designers to showcase what they’ve got on a grand scale. As many as 16 designers, including Antoni & Alison, Bora Aksu, Corrie Nielsen and designers from Central Saint Martins MA showed their creations at the event.

Some Central Saint Martins alumni? Stella McCartney, Christopher Kane, and even the late Alexander McQueen. Check out the full show here!

JEREMY SCOTT FALL/WINTER 2012.13

What a nice way to end NYFW! Jeremy Scott’s Fall 12 collection screams psychedelic cartoons on acid, and I LOVE it! Fun and vibrant colorful prints were seen on virtually every garment from sweaters to pants to footwear. Unicorns, pixelated icons, and colorful fur was also seen in the collection. Definitely not attire for the modest! Peep the footage of the full show (above)!

RODARTE FALL/WINTER 2012.13

One word: yum! The Fall ‘12 Rodarte show yesterday was a star studded event with the likes of young power-women Tavie Gevinson and Dakota Fanning in the building. This season, designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy bring their brand into a more commercial spotlight.

With a strong focus of mixing both their artistic visions and what will ultimately sell, I’d say they’ve done a pretty damn good job! With the help of 40s/70s silhouettes, this collection was very “Austrailian Outback chic”. Check out the full collection here.

CHRIS BENZ FALL/WINTER 2012.13

Just when you think Chris Benz can’t top himself, he does exactly that! Benz took us to a vintage world of big wigs and dress up! Benz studied hard on old footage of Dolly Parton and Judy Garland to really channel the feel for this collection: dress up cocktail party chic. This was done in extremely good taste and has to be the best we’ve seen from him in a while. A+!
