ILLUSTRATION RAF SIMONS TO TAKE OVER DIOR?
In a frenzy of speculation and industry murmurs, the house of Christian Dior has taken sweet time in selecting the next designer to creatively lead their historical fashion house. As reported by WWD and Vogue, sources have stated that a deal with Belgian designer, Raf Simons is on the rise will very soon be finalized. Throughout much of this year, following the termination of Dior’s previous director, John Galliano; names from Marc Jacobs to Alexander Wang.
Simons has become a notable figure in fashion as of late, through his design work at Jil.Sander. He also heads up his own namesake label Raf Simons, which is a step away from the Dior aesthetic as his designs tend to be hyper-minimalist. More info on this to come! Thoughts?

Anything this man does is of quality, so this will obviously be something to look out for (especially if you’re in Milan)! Next month Louis Vuitton will be unveiling a brand new exhibition paying tribute to their creative director Marc Jacobs - perhaps as a thank you before he leaves for Dior? The show will be taking place at Milan’s Triennale during Fashion Week and will feature the designer’s work since he started at LV in 1997.
The exhibition will run from 22 September trough 9 October, 2011. Triennale di Milano

Say it ain’t so! An insider at Dior has confidently reported that Marc Jacobs has moved from his role as Louis Vuitton’s creative director and joined the team over at Dior. “Marc Jacobs is indeed the new creative head,” said the Paris-based insider, adding that Jacobs is a “better fit” than John Galliano, who was sacked earlier in the year due to racist and anti-Semitic remarks. Apparently the deal is just “awaiting signatures”. More info coming asap!
