We’ll never tire of coffee table tomes featuring the legendary Miss Monroe, but this collector’s volume book “Norman Mailer, Marilyn Monroe, Bert Stern” looks like it could possibly be the best yet. With an asking from of $1,000, The limited edition book, published by Taschen, features some of the most intimate photographs of the Hollywood star, taken by Bert Stern over a period of three days at the Bel-Air Hotel in Los Angeles for Vogue. Six weeks after they were shot, Monroe was mysteriously found dead.

It’s been almost 50 years since her death, but Marilyn Monroe is still getting covers. The diary of Marilyn Monroe, one of Hollywood’s most iconic beauties ever, will be released in the November issue of Vanity Fair. According to sources, the diary was recently discovered, and it contains private letters and diary entries from the star. One excerpt from Monroe’s diary is about her experience in a psychiatric ward, “There was no empathy at Payne Whitney — it had a very bad effect — they asked me after putting me in a ‘cell’ (I mean cement blocks and all) for very disturbed depressed patients (except I felt I was in some kind of prison for a crime I hadn’t committed. The inhumanity there I found archaic. Everything was under lock and key. The doors have windows so patients can be visible all the time, also, the violence and markings still remain on the walls from former patients).” You can find this issue on stands today!

A home video has surfaced of Marilyn Monroe smoking pot at a friend’s house in New Jersey. The video is suspected to be from 1958 or 1959.
New-York based collector Keya Morgan has purchased the footage for $275K and is putting it up for sale on eBay this week.
The video shows a very relaxed Monroe spending time with her friends. She is passed the joint, takes a puff and then smells her armpit before laughing!
The unidentified filmmaker, who had been keeping the video in his attic all these years, confirmed that the substance in the cigarette is marijuana:
“I got [the pot]. It was mine. It was just passed around. It was not a party. It was just a get-together. You know, come over and hang out.”
Who knew that Marilyn was a marijuana fan?
