BURBERRY PORSUM | PRE-FALL 2012

This might be the most romantic pre-fall 2012 collection thus far Burberry’s Christopher Bailey plunged the feel of the thirties in a long crepe evening dressed with puffed sleeves, corduroy jackets, tailored and slim skirts. The color theme was subdued, and some of the pieces had chrysanthemum prints from the 30s. With 99% of the collection styled with bow belts, all of the garments carried that modern and young outlook that Christopher Bailey so perfectly brings to the English house. Yum!

Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2012

It was hands-down the most talked about show of the Fashion Week season to date, and it didn’t disappoint! Burberry Prorsum and creative head Christopher Bailey showcased a collection distinctly rooted in the brand’s British roots, the intricate fabrics created by Burberry’s factory in Castleford, and the textile designs of sculptor Henry Moore. “I’m interested in the relationship between ‘slow’ artisan crafts and the fast pace of technology - I don’t see why they can’t coexist.” Miss the show? No worries, you can watch the full stream right here!

Milan Fashion Week Spring 2012

Burberry is always a highlight of Milan men’s week, and (as usual) it didn’t disappoint! Festival trends for women was getting kind of cliche and boring, so to see Burberry cooking up something like this for menswear spring 2012 is great!

Burberry Porsum creative chief Christopher Bailey was definitely testing the waters with this all new look, especially with all of the handcrafted detail. From the  from the crocheted raffia caps all the way down to the cork-soled leather loafers with raffia contrasts, if there was an opportunity to make something look hand-hewn, Christopher Bailey seized it with perfection.
